 Synopsis

Girls say I’m a walking, talking sex god. Guys call me Hollywood because my life is golden.  It’s not.

But, ESPN did rank me as a four star recruit, calling me one of the best defensive players since Briarcrest Academy opened its esteemed doors. So yeah, with football and a stellar GPA, my future seemed good.

Then Dovey Beckham shows up in her short skirts and ballet shoes. Driving me insane. Making me want to beg for her attention.

But that wouldn’t happen, because Cuba Hudson didn’t beg for anything.

She walked around BA like she owned the place, and most days she looked right through me…the one
girl I couldn’t have.

So, of course, I made it my mission to claim her, to put her notch on my bedpost. Because no girl can resist the Heartbreaker of BA.

But I never planned on destroying her.

I never planned on wrecking the one thing that could save me.

Welcome to Briarcrest Academy, where wicked love begins…and ends.

Excerptfor Very Wicked Things
Book #2 of the Briarcrest Academy Series
by Ilsa Madden-Mills

I got out of the shower and dressed hurriedly, anxious to get back to Cuba.
The door opened, and like he did it every single day, he stepped inside the steamy bathroom.
“Think I need a shower, too,” he said, his fingers easing off his football practice shirt.
What? Now?
Trying to play it cool and failing miserably, I moved my eyes off his naked chest and checked out his track pants and the obvious bulge he sported.
Oh.
Did his lower body match the rest of him? Was it all sinewy muscle and big?
Just, yeah. That thought got stuck in my head and went round and round.
“You staying?” he asked, a grin working his face. Pleased at my open admiration, probably.
“No,” I said, but made no move to go. ‘Cause I had no shame when it came to catching a glimpse of his muscular body.
“Good,” he said, his smile broadening.
He pivoted to turn on the shower, and my eyes betrayed me again, admiring the muscles in his back, checking out how they twitched and rippled when he moved. Football and rowing had been good to him. My fingers itched to know how they’d feel underneath my hands. Which was stupid because we had nothing in common. Not a rich Highland Park boy and a poor girl from Ratcliffe.
And most importantly, he was a player, not to be trusted.
He hooked his thumbs into his pants, paused a moment—maybe waiting to see if I’d run from the room?—but when I didn’t budge, he slid them and his underwear off. My mouth opened. Cuba Hudson, the most popular guy at Briarcrest was standing right in front of me, naked and beautiful. And like the cocky bastard he was, he posed for me, his big-ass biceps and chiseled abs making me vibrate all over. Need for him slammed into me.
Did I say he was hot?
Well, I was wrong.
He was off-the-charts, no-holds-barred, freaking going make-me-lose-my-mind-right-there delicious. The ultimate man-candy, the kind I knew to stay away from, yet here I was, ogling him.
“Still leaving?” he asked huskily.
“Any minute,” I said in a weak voice, backing up to the wall and propping myself up. “Just chillin’. Shower wore me out. I might need to hold this wall up for a sec.”
“I want you to stay,” he said, eyes at half-mast, glowing with heat.
“Why?” I said, aching to touch him. But that was crazy. I was a virgin, and I didn’t know jack about touching a guy’s you-know-what.
“Look at me, Dovey.”
I tore my eyes from his manhood, blushing.
His eyes burned. “There’s a sense of urgency in my head. Like our time is limited.”
I nodded. Yeah, same here.
“And, I’ll be honest, I don’t want to rush you, but I’m dying to sink into you. I want to set you on
fire with need for me.” He ghosted his hands over the steel rod between his legs. Once, twice, and—holy shizzle, he didn’t stop.
My chest rose faster and faster, and I tried to chill-out, but I couldn’t.
He lowered his voice. “Kiss me again, Dovey.”
Oh. “That’s a terrible idea, Cuba. Cause you’re naked, and I’m turned on because you’re naked. And
you’re touching yourself. And you’re naked.” I sucked in a sharp breath. “Not a good combo. Odds are we’ll end up in that shower together or back in your bed doing the double-backed monster.”
“Then join me in the shower. I’ll be good. For you.” He arched his back, his hands still doing that
back and forth that was driving me insane.
Liar, liar, pants on fire, I thought. No way he would he be good.
Because he was the Heartbreaker of Briarcrest Academy. And one wicked boy.

 excerpt

“What have you done?”
His voice is full of warmth as he watches me from the sofa.

“Since you’ve been
working too hard—”

“Exaggeration.”

“Since you’ve been
working too hard,” I repeat, “I decided to recreate our relaxing spa vacation
in the desert.”

Placing the tray on
the coffee table, I hand him his flute and lift mine. “To family restrooms.”

He laughs and clinks
back. “To the gorgeous woman who drives me to crazy extremes.”

We sip and I crawl
forward on the couch to kiss him and tell him again. “I love you.”

He leans forward,
placing his flute, the tray, my flute, all of it on the coffee table. Then his
hands move through the open robe to pull me onto his lap in a straddle, facing
him. Just that fast, his mouth is on my neck, nibbling and kissing. My eyes are
closed, and I’m powerless.

“I love you more,” he
says beside my ear with a deep inhale. “You smell so good.”

Threading my fingers
in his hair, I kiss his temple. “I wore the red lace…”

A rumble of approval,
and his lips touch that spot behind my ear, a light scruff against my skin,
sending shivers flying down my legs.

“My favorite.” His
voice is thick as I pull his cheeks, reuniting our mouths.

For a moment, we make
out like teenagers, hot and breathless, tongues entwining. He holds me against
his bare chest, my elbows are bent, and my palms are on his cheeks. His mouth
is like some rich, decadent chocolate I can never get enough of tasting. As we
kiss, I feel him relax, and my hands slide behind his neck, my lips travel up
to his brow. He hugs me against his torso and doesn’t move. Neither do I.

This big, strong man
saved me twice. If comfort is what he needs, I’m here to give it to him. I’m
here to give him anything. After a few more breaths, his arms relax. I lean
back and study his face a moment. The robe has dropped around my shoulders, so
I’m basically sitting nude on his lap, but I don’t care.

“Hungry?” I reach for
the sandwich plate and hold it between us, right at our chins. “You probably
won’t think it’s as good as Central Grocery, but I think it’s delicious.”

His blue eyes take me
in before he bites. “Mmm…” is all I get.

Giggling, I lean
forward and take a bite myself. The tangy, savory flavor of olives and smoky
provolone fills my mouth.

“Delicious!” My voice
is muffled.

His smile glows as he
watches me, his voice full of love. “How’s the baby?”

Lowering the sandwich
to the plate, I turn and put it on the side table again. “I can’t feel a thing,
but the doctor said he’s doing great.”

My last checkup was a
week ago, and we both agreed unless something unusual occurred, Derek could
miss the routine exams. So far everything has been by the book.

“So he’s a boy now?”
I love his grin at the prospect of a little son.

Shrugging, I
acquiesce. “Maybe… it’s too soon to know.”

His attention moves
from my face to my abdomen. Large hands span my bare stomach before he leans
forward and kisses me right below my sternum, right at the top of my belly.

“I love you,” he
whispers to the little bean growing there.

I’m certain my heart
melts in that instant, and I catch his face again to cover it with kisses. He’s
right with me, lifting me in his arms and carrying me to the master suite. A
California king-sized bed fills the space, and he spreads me out on the soft
mattress, lying on his side next to me.

I trail my fingers
lightly over his brow, to his temple, following a line to his strong jaw. He
looks at me like I’m the most fragile thing in his bed—another detail he knows
isn’t true.

We don’t disturb the
moment, though. The truth might be that both of us are strong as iron, tough as
flint, but holding each other, we know how precious it is that we’re here,
together.

The randomness of
chance keeps us both in awe, and for that, we treasure these moments. After
working so hard, our reunions are the sweetest bliss. He holds me, and I feel
very needed and extremely sexy. This man is like water in the desert to me, and
it isn’t hard to see the feeling is mutual.

“I’m sorry I
interrupted dinner.” Leaning forward, he nibbles the skin at my neck, and a
surge rises between my legs. “Can you wait?”

My voice is thick as
I answer. “I guess so…”

BOOK BLAST**~**A Blue Tale by Sarah Dosher – Excerpt, Trailer, Playlist, Review, and GIVEAWAY!!!

The rock legend’s daughter…
Eli Blue Savage doesn’t trust musicians, especially those that idolize her dad.  Her heart’s been broken by everyone she’s ever loved. Fairytale dreams and the music she locks inside her heart are all that keep her alive. The musician with a dark past…

Deacon Chastain plays a blue guitar to match his rock idol, the man that saved him from a path of destruction.  His life revolves around music; it’s the only thing that saves him from the darkness.
Hearts beat to the same rhythm…

Broken and scarred by their pasts, can they find a way to heal and move forward?  No matter the adversity, even the hardest of hearts can be softened by love – music is easy; life is hard.

excerptEli Blue
“Deacon! Deacon! Deacon!” the hoard of girls chanted, as they pushed and shoved, trying to get closer to the empty stage.

The unmistakable sound of a Fender Stratocaster echoed through the small arena, inciting the masses even further.  The crowd was a living, breathing entity all its own that swayed and surged with every note.
As the opening guitar solo edged forward, I could smell sweet excitement filling the air; unfortunately, the scent was dampened by sweat and stale beer.

“C’mon, hurry your ass up!” I shouted to my friend, Willow, before I started weaving through the flesh-hungry mob. Willow wrapped her arms around my waist trying not to get trampled.

After elbowing every single person in our path, we finally reached the barricade a few feet from the stage. Immediately, we were greeted by a snarling security guard that wasn’t happy to see us ascending into sacred territory.  He held up his hands in a silent plea for us to stop, which did nothing but make me roll my eyes.  I’d never felt entitled to things in my life; however, free reign at this place was a given, and the only thing I ever demanded.

I flashed the sweetest smile I could manage, and was just about to inform him who my dad was, when a man dressed in a business suit gestured for the guard to let us pass.  I smiled at the suit and he returned the gesture with a nod of his head just before he disappeared behind a door leading under the stage.  Realization of who I was, or actually who my dad was, flooded over the guard’s face. His eyes grew wide and reverence appeared – with a touch of pity.

“That never gets old.” Willow yelled in my ear over the screams and hollers for the concert to begin.

“What?” I shouted back.

“When they finally realize you’re someone important and retreat.” She laughed.

I shook my head. “But I’m not.” I informed her.

“Yes, you are, Elizabeth, and it won’t be long ‘til I’m someone special, too.” She said with a wink.

I rolled my eyes at her before turning my attention back to the stage just as a single light began to rise.
The guitar solo slowly faded and was followed by the pounding of a kick drum.  Boom, boom, boom.  I could feel my heart mirror the slow, methodical beat.  Boom, boom, boom.
Anticipation built within me causing heat to cover my body, and sweat to roll down the middle of my back.
Music always had a way of exciting me. I’d grown up with it – I’d never known anything different.  Even when I’d been shielded from its harsh glare, a constant rhythm still flowed through my veins.

A shadowy figure appeared at the center microphone directly in front of us.

“Oh shit there he is, there he is!” Willow screamed, jumping up and down.

I burst into laughter because I’d never seen her act like this before.

“Damn girl, calm down! He’s just some lead singer.  We’ve definitely met our fair share before.” I placed my hands on her shoulders forcing her to calm down.

She pointed toward the stage, “Duke’s different—dear Lord is he different.  Just wait ‘til you hear him sing and you’ll be ready to rip his clothes off, too.”

“Fuck me, Duke!” echoed behind me.  I turned to see a leggy blonde with the brightest red lips I’d ever seen, flashing her tits at the stage.  I’d never understand how any woman thought that would help her chances at snagging a man. Sleazy desperation was never attractive on anyone, no matter how much
lipstick you tried to cover it with.

A low, sexy growl came through the sound system, drawing my attention back to the stage.  Standing
center stage was a towering man wearing nothing but black leather pants.  His long blonde hair hung down his back and teased the crowd by subtly camouflaging his muscles that appeared to bulge in
all the right places.

“That’s him, that’s him.” Willow shouted, digging her nails into my upper arm. I shrugged my shoulders, “Yeah, he looks good, but I need to hear him first.”

“He plays guitar, too. Don’t worry, I wouldn’t drag you here for a singer that didn’t play, too.”

I smiled at my best friend because she knew me well. Although I tried hard not to pass judgment on him before I actually heard him sing, his cliché appearance was definitely a strike against him.  He was too flashy for what I wanted.  I wanted old fashioned musicians that played for the love of their craft.  Not someone that was just in it for the glitz and glam. Willow dragged me here tonight in hopes I’d sign her
favorite new band to my dad’s management company; technically, it was my management company now, even though I refused to call it that.  Savage Man had become mine four years ago on my eighteenth birthday.  Before that my mother almost ran it into the ground from the day her guardianship of me granted her the right.

My dad hadn’t been a part of my life since all the glitz and glam took him from me when I was barely thirteen years old. Not nearly old enough to know how his absence would affect my entire world, let alone how he’d want me to lead his brainchild.

Willow’s band, The Elle’s, was the first band I signed when I officially started working at Savage Man full time last month, after graduating college.  An all girl rock band, no one could go wrong with the way these girls looked, not to mention their amount of talent.  Simply, they kicked ass.  The only problem was the estrogen induced drama that occurred on a daily basis. But Willow had been the only constant in
my life, and I’d do anything to help her achieve her dreams.

“Hey, are you even listening to him?” Willow whined.

“I’m listening,” I snapped. I was definitely listening, and his voice was impressive.  Clear and
smooth, just like she’d said it was.

The bridge of the song played and the lead guitar picked up, sending chills dancing across my skin.  I
moved to my left and on to my tiptoes, trying to peer over the tall stage, but
couldn’t see the guitar player.  His half of the stage was too dark; the only beam of light focused on Duke, who was busy grinding his hips in the direction of every female he could find.

“Deacon Chastain.” Willow said with a huge smile.  “That’s who you’re looking for over there.  He doesn’t come out of the shadows very often.  Apparently he likes to sulk back there and be all broody.”

“He’s damn good.  Why didn’t you tell me about him?”

Her eyes gleamed with orneriness. “Because I wanted you to discover him for yourself. Just wait; there’s a hell of a lot more to see.”

Song, after song played and I still hadn’t seen more than a glimpse of Deacon through his shroud of darkness.  Still, the sounds that came from his guitar kept me entranced.  I’d stopped listening
to the song as a whole, only feeling the vibrations of his picked guitar strings darting through my core.  They felt so familiar, like I’d never listened to anyone, other than him, play.

“We are Unforgiven, and we hope we rocked you as hard as you rocked us tonight.  If not, be sure and
let us know, so we can tell you to go fuck yourself.” Duke shouted and the crowd cheered. “Ladies, don’t forget the line for the backstage freaky train forms to your left by the big bald security guard. As always, the last song of the night goes to our fearless founder and leader, Deacon.”

I expected the crowd to go wild with more sexual favor declarations from the half-naked Barbie’s all around me, but there was only complete silence.  Duke dropped the mic with a shrill shriek, and the entire room immediately went black.

A dim light from the back of the stage slowly arced across the venue, stopping and illuminating someone sitting on a bar stool with a black hoodie pulled over his head.  Now backlit, the figure became a dark and menacing presence. A microphone stood in front of him, waiting to be used, while a large guitar rested on his leg.  Willow pulled on my arm and moved closer.

“That’s Deacon.” She said softly into my ear. “This is their end of the show tradition – same song at the end of every show.”

The sound of his knuckles cracking filtered through the stillness as a bright spotlight illuminated the front of his guitar.  I gasped. It was my guitar; my dad’s guitar.
I knew every single inch of my dad’s guitar and this was identical, even down to the bright blue details.  I felt my heart fall to the floor, shattering into a million jagged pieces.  He was another one, another guitar player obsessed with my dad.  I found them everywhere, or more accurately, they found me.  I think some of them had a tracking device attached to my ass with how quickly they could locate me.  I’d spent my life fighting off Kirk Savage wannabes.  Which never made sense to me—I’m his daughter, so their path to becoming my “Rock God” dad should not include them vying to be in my pants.

I heard Deacon slowly inhale then let out a long, steady stream of air.  Not a nervous gesture, but a
prayer for strength.  He lightly strummed his guitar and the sound invaded my senses. He played a slow, light melody that had tears burning my eyes.

His fingers moved over the smooth strings, creating one of the most genuine sounds I’d ever heard—every movement of his hand giving voice to the desires of his heart. I’d been around enough musicians to know that was the only way a mere human could compose such a melody, and in that moment, our hearts were beating to the same rhythm.

His voice rang through the calm bar and every eye was turned, hanging on his every word.  His voice was light and rough, his words ran together, just barely clear enough to understand.
Take her now; you need her more than I
She hasn’t ever truly been mine
Strike your claim; it’s been too long
I’ve been fighting, but you’ve won
There’s no way, don’t hide your eyes
Unused, unwanted, unclaimed
Some of my earliest memories were of me, sitting cross legged in the middle of my dad’s studio, intently watching the faces of musicians as they poured their heart and soul into their gift.  My dad used to say, if the fans didn’t feel like they’d lived an entire lifetime in his shoes after he performed, then he
needed to find another job.  “Maybe an accountant,” he’d joke, “they don’t need emotions.”

Music has always been the driving force in my life.  It soothed my fears when I was overcome, and
guided the way when I was lost.  I looked to music like a religious man looks to his God – and it had yet to let me down.  If Deacon’s face wasn’t covered by the darkness, I knew I would see every emotion evoked by his words.  Music was easy, life was hard.  Each haunting syllable he uttered crawled deep into my soul.

“Holy shit, are you crying?” Willow shrieked from beside me, and then laughed.

I touched my cheeks and felt wetness; I hadn’t even realized I was crying.  I wiped it away before
turning to look at her.

“No, I wasn’t crying. Are you crazy?”

“Bullshit Elizabeth, you were freaking cryin’ and don’t try to deny it.” She pointed her finger in my face and shook her head at me.

“Whatever, c’mon.” I said, looping our arms together and heading toward backstage. “Do you, or do you not, want to meet Duke?”

“Damn right I’m gonna meet him; gotta meet him before I can make him put a ring on it.”  She said with a laugh.

This is the second Sarah Dosher novel I have read and I have to say I am hooked on her.  I have really enjoyed both books immensely.  she has a knack for creating a story that will suck you in and keeping you interested until the very end.  This book was about a musician and I have to say that, that is what drew me to this book.  I love a good book about a hunky rockstar 😉  This book not only created a story about a rockstar but also the behind the scenes of the music business.  I really enjoyed that aspect of the story because I thought it was unique to the music storyline books we have already read.  I really like Sarah’s writing style, she doesn’t rush anything but also doesn’t drag anything out.  Her books are a quick read but only because you can’t put them down.  This story took me by surprise….she added things to this story I wasn’t expecting but were well written and great additions to the story.  I won’t say more because I don’t want to give anything away.  I loved how Sarah incorporated the past into this story with little flashbacks throughout the book.  I thought the past and present really blended well together.  I know for sure I will keep reading any book Sarah writes, and I am hoping that we get more about Unforgiven…..the other band mates could be interesting to read about also 🙂

This book is about Eli Blue Savage and Deacon Chastain (don’t you just love his name…it makes me tingle just thinking about it 😉 )  Eli is the daughter of the late Kirk Savage, who a rock legend of his time.  He also owned his own music company, which Eli took over after his death.  Eli’s vision was to keep her fathers motto alive, by signing talented artists who play for the love of music, not the money and the fame.  I loved Eli’s character…..she had such a tender heart.  She didn’t have the best life growing up because her mom was awful and her dad was always on the road.  Things changed for Eli once her dad decided to kick the mom to the curb and bring Eli with him everywhere.  I loved that we got to see and feel the love that her dad had for her through her flashbacks.  Now grown up she is looking to sign new talent….this is how she meets Deacon Chastain.  He is a talented guitarist with the band Unforgiven.  He envolked everything Eli wanted in a musician.  I loved watching these two grow into better people and watching their relationship blossom.  Now don’t get me wrong they had their hurdles to overcome ( and some of them were doozies) but it only made them stronger and know that what they had was worth fighting for.  Not only was Deacon a hunky musician, he was also a little bit of an Alpha….boy could he be bossy…. 😉

We meet quite a few side characters…Dave, Shaw, Willow, Duke, Angela, and Tony.  Each of these people play intrical parts in this story.  Some of them I liked and some I really didn’t like at all.  Like I said I really hope we get more books about the other bandmates because I think their stories could be interesting.

I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a great Rockstar love story with a little bit of suspense and drama built in.

BLOG TOUR**~**Vision of Love by S. Moose – Review, Excerpt, Teaser, Trailer, and GIVEAWAY!!!

Vision FINAL - ebook

You can say I had it all. The fancy house, top of the line car, lots of friends and more money than anyone could ever imagine. On the outside, we were the perfect family. No one knew about my abusive father and my mother who drank herself into oblivion every night. My name is Karly and I have scars, deep scars that no one knows about, and when my parents died I was left alone and on my own, to fight through life with no help.

When it came to life and happiness, I had it all until my world was turned upside down. My name is Nicholas and my wife, the love of my life, left me and our new baby girl without as much as an explanation. I didn’t want to accept it, but after our divorce was final and four long years passed, I started to lose hope that she’d ever come back. Emma was growing so fast and I needed help. My sister recommended that I hire her friend, Karly, as Emma’s nanny. I took a chance on bringing another woman into my little girl’s life. Did I do the right thing?

As many days and nights are spent together, feelings can no longer be denied and a relationship is formed.

Life is about taking chances and learning how to fall, but when the past comes back, will they be strong enough to fight through and trust each other? Or will all they worked for fall apart?

excerpt
“You’re mine tonight so make sure you stay by my side,” I whisper in her ear. My hands hold onto her hips as we dance. Damn she can dance. She takes the lead, helping me move with her.
The music is loud with the bass bumping against the speakers causing the crowd to go wild. The atmosphere is screaming fun and sex.
The music changes to ‘Hold It Against Me’ by Brittany Spears. The alcohol finally kicks in. My hands go on a mission and find the spot they want. “Fuck baby! No panties tonight?”
A seductive smile comes on her face. “Just. For. You.” I let out a growl and push my fingers inside her.
“Baby you’re so fucking wet.”
“I’m always wet when it comes to you.” She bites down on my shoulder whispering for more. I feel her body shudder against mine. Karly pulls down her dress and guides me off the dance floor towards the bathroom. Yes!

When S. Moose said that this book is unlike her past books….she wasn’t lying.  This book is an emotional rollercoaster.  One minute I was happy and feeling the love and then the next I was either pissed or sad.  I really did enjoy this book and storyline.  The story kept me interested throughout the whole thing.  I loved that it was dual POV….it was nice seeing how each character felt.  I will say that I didn’t feel like the story flowed as well as it could’ve.  It felt a little jumpy to me.  It was like some scenes or thoughts weren’t completed.  It’s hard to explain but you’ll understand as you read it.  I just felt that if some of those scenes would’ve been expanded on then the story would’ve flowed better.  Even with that I still enjoyed the book. I look forward to seeing where this story goes.

This story truly is about learning to move on and learning to trust and let people in.  Karly and Nicolas are two extremely broken people…with good reason.  What happens to Karly when she was a teenager is horrible and my heart broke for her.  Life truly didn’t get easier for Karly as time went on, but once she met Nicolas things started to look up.  I have to say I felt I connected better with Karly then I did with Nicolas.  I didn’t like him a whole lot in the beginning.  Yes he did grow on me but by the end I’m not sure how I feel about him. (You’ll understand when you read the book).  Nicolas had his sweet side but he could also be a complete jerk too.  I understand he had built walls up to protect him and his daughter Emma, but it rubbed me the wrong way at times.  I’m holding out hope that my opinion will change in the second book.

I loved the secondary characters that we met throughout the story…even Bradley.  Emma (Nicolas’s daughter) was absolutely adorable.  I also loved Alexis and Karly’s friendship.  I’ll be excited to see where Alexis and Larry go in the second book 🙂

I would recommend this book if you are looking for that second chance at love type story.  This was a very quick read, sometimes I felt things were rushed, but worth the read.  I will say that this book did end with a Cliffhanger and book 2 isn’t out until August.  Just know that this wasn’t the worst cliffy I’ve read but it will drive me crazy trying to figure something’s out while I wait 🙂

excerpt

I turned on the radio and sang along to “Outside” by Staind as I shoved down my boxer briefs, kicking them off on the floor. I made my way into my bathroom, turning on the light above the sink but leaving the one in the shower stall off to spare myself the harsh light. The water didn’t take long to heat up, and I slid under the spray, closing the fogged glass door behind me.

I dumped liquid body wash in the palm of my hand and rubbed the soap over my chest and down my stomach as I begged for the adrenaline of my nightmares to subside. My hand dipped lower, knowing there was only one way to make those memories fade, and I wasn’t proud of that fact. I gripped my dick, squeezing hard as my hand slid slowly up and down my length. I rested my forehead against the damp sandstone tile and closed my eyes, hoping I could find some sort of release.

The song ended, and waiting for the next to start was quickly killing my mood. Nine Inch Nails faded in through the speakers that were embedded above the shower stall, and I began to stroke myself faster as I pictured small, perky tits with light-pink pebbled nipples. I licked my lips as I focused on the faceless vision, my eyes traveling down a tight stomach while my fingers slipped over my head and back against the base of my cock. I panted, water droplets falling from my lips as I imagined it was swollen pink lips wrapped around me, sucking as my fist gripped her hair, tiny moans in the back of her throat vibrating and nearly sending me over the edge as I pushed her closer, touching the back of her throat with my dick.

“Ah…” I groaned over the music. I imagined her moaning my name, begging for me to come in her pretty little mouth.

“Colin?” Annie’s voice came from inside my room.

“Fuck,” I growled, but I was too close to be able to stop myself as my stomach muscles tightened.

“Colin?” she called again as she got closer, and it sent me over the edge.

“Fuck, Annie,” I panted as I came, struggling to catch my breath as I stared at her emerald eyes through the fogged glass door. She didn’t move for a moment, her lips parted in complete shock and breathing as erratically as me.

“Your shirt,” she whispered as it fell from her fingertips, pooling at her feet, and her eyes locked on mine.

“Leave,” I barked. My words jarred her, and she ran from my room.

about-the-author
I was a Russian spy at the ripe age of thirteen, given my uncanny ability to tell if someone was lying ( I also read fortunes on the weekends). By sixteen I had become too much of a handful for the Lethal Intelligence Ensemble (L.I.E.). I was quickly exiled to the south of France where I worked with wayward elephants in the Circus of Roaming Animals and People (C.R.A.P.). I was able to make ends meet by selling my organs on the black market for pocket change and beer money. At the age of twenty three I decided to expand my horizons and become a blackjack dealer in Ireland. I loved the family atmosphere at Barney’s Underground Liquor Lounge (B.U.L.L.). People couldn’t resist the allure of Liquor up front and poker in the rear. Eventually I became tired of the rear and headed off to the United States to try my hand at tall tales. That is what brings us here today. If you have a moment I’d like to tell you a story.

Out of despair comes hope.

Chris King never saw it coming…
In some ways, closing the book on my first love was the worst day of life. I was gutted, and yet I was completely at peace with my decision. I walked away knowing that I did what was best for her, unsure if I could ever recover.
Little did I know that one concert would change the entire course of my life.

There I stood, signing autographs and snapping pictures with fans when a familiar face in the crowd catapulted my mind back in time—Salem Honeycutt, once a balm to my pain and a calm in my storm. Yet again, her smiling face gave me hope.
Only one question remained: did she still see me as a wayward teenage boy who was completely off limits, or could she see the man I’d become…focused and driven, yearning for another chance at love?

For Salem Honeycutt, postpartum bliss seemed like a lie…
No one told me that I’d hate my baby when I brought her home from the hospital. No one told me that I’d want to put a pillow over my husband’s head and smother him in his sleep. No one told me that I’d want to slap every person who gave me the ever-so-cliché advice to ‘cherish every moment.’ No one told me that I’d despise my life the minute I became a mother, but I did.

Then I met Chris King, the kid who made me want to pull myself up from the dark recesses of my mind and face each day. This kid, whose passion for life and talent for music, touched my soul deeper than I could ever touch his. Chris gave me a reason to live.

I was once affectionately known as Mrs. H., Chris’s juvenile detention counselor.

This is our story.
