Ford first appears in Rook and Ronin #2, Manic. He has a bigger role in Panic, R&R #3, and then he has a novella, called SLACK. This TAUT book is only FORD. It’s not really part of the R&R series, as that plot has all been sidelined for this one romance book.

~~ 5 Ford Controlling Stars ~~
What can I say except READ THIS book!!! If you haven’t read Tragic, Manic, and Panic…you need to read that series, so that you can meet Ford Aston. Once you’ve met him you will want to read this book. I fell for Ford in Rook and Ronin’s Series….I was so excited to hear he was getting his own book, because I knew it was going to be EXCELLENT. I was not disappointed. I loved this story because it was so different then anything else out there. The flow of the story is perfect, not to slow or to rushed. I loved all the details we learned in this book. This book had a little bit of everything in it, you will laugh, cry ( at least get misty eyed ), swoon, get mad, and fall in love. You might even melt your kindle from some of the steamy scenes.
This story takes off pretty much where Panic ended….I loved that because there was no time loss in this story. Ford is pretty much walking away from Rook and Ronin and leaving Colorado to return to LA. He gets antsy and decides he is going to drive back when he gets stuck in Vail because of a blizzard and his ancient truck that breaks down. This is where he meets Ashleigh and Kate ( her 3 month old daughter ). For some reason Ford is compelled to help her and Kate. This starts a journey of self discovery, forgiveness, redemption, and love. Ford and Ashleigh were great together. I truly felt they were perfect matched for each other. What one was lacking the other made up for it. Their relationship develops over time and over the expanse of a short road trip. This book showed us a totally different side to Ford. Yes in the beginning he was still a controlling jerk, but you just had to love him. But as Ashleigh started breaking down his walls, we got to see so much more. We find out why Ford is the way he is. I’m not going to explain that because I think everyone should find that out on their own. Ashleigh, she was a broken soul, just trying to provide a good life for her daughter. But boy was she also a little spit fire. I loved how she interacted with Ford. We also learn quite a bit about her in this book too.
I also loved that we got to see a little bit of Rook, Ronin and Spencer, since they are all such an important part of Ford’s life.
I would for sure recommend this book to anyone looking for a great love story between two people who were the furthest from wanting love. It was a great story of self discovery and learning that everyone deserves a second chance in life and love.
