Beckett Taylor is a murderer. His calling, his craft are destruction and intimidation—whether he wants it that way now or not. He left Poughkeepsie to keep his brothers safe, to keep Eve safe. Set up with happy lives to live, they’re better off without him, right?
But all his willpower crumbles when he hears his brother Blake’s frantic voice on the phone. An unknown enemy has moved in on his old territory, and Livia’s been taken. In an instant, Beckett knows it will take an attack only he and Eve can execute to bring her back. All his self-imposed embargoes are torn to shreds, perhaps along with the new man he’s struggled to become.
“Brother, call Eve. I’ll be there soon.”

5 “On the Edge of My Seat” Stars
Let me start by saying that I don’t believe my review will do this book or series justice. All I can say is WOW!!! This book sucked me in as soon as I started it and didn’t let go until it was done. I knew that I was going to love Beckett’s story and I was right. Debra didn’t disappoint :). Debra really knows how to write a sequel that is just as great as book 1. This book was chocked full of emotion and action. It is a book that is impossible to put down. I really don’t think I can express all the feelings I have in my head right now. This review is very difficult to write because everything I want to say is a spoiler and I won’t write spoilers. This is definitely a book you need to experience on your own. I absolutely LOVED this storyline….it was so different from anything I have read recently…that is such a great change of pace and is so refreshing 🙂 As usual, the writing style of Debra Anastasia is flawless. This book, even though we had time changes and POV changes flowed effortlessly.
This book was so much more than just a love story or about Beckett coming back. This book takes off right where book 1 ended. The way that the author played out this story was fantastic. I loved that all of the old characters from book 1 played just as an important part in book 2. We also met some new people. I will admit that I started this book a little confused at first, but over the course of the story everything is completely explained and by the end you are left knowing everything you need to know. As I said before…I fell in love with Beckett in book 1 and I have to say I love him even more after reading this book. He is so gritty and raw, but that is what I loved about him. He didn’t hold anything back. He truly had me expressing so many emotions while reading this book…I laughed, I yelled, and I definitely blushed 😉 I truly felt Eve is Beckett’s true soul mate. They are perfect for each other. They loved each other for who they were, and didn’t try to change each other. They also proved that a true love can stand the test of time. Eve is such a strong female character…I love it!!!! Yes she is broken from past tragedies, but that fact that she is strong enough to pull herself up and continue on was great to see. To me she is one Bada$$ chick. Just what Beckett needs right???
I loved that we got to see Cole, Kyle, Blake and Livia again in this story. Like I said before there lives and stories played a pivotal part in this book. I can’t really explain much because it would give away to much. I can say that Blake was just as amazing in this book as he was in book 1. What he does for Livia is truly heroic!!!! I also enjoyed seeing Kyle and Cole’s relationship grow. My heart broke for the struggles they have to go through during this story, but I was glad to see how everything turned out.
I am truly sorry that this review is very vague but anything I want to talk about I can’t….lol 🙂 I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who has read Poughkeepsie. You for sure need to continue on with this story. If you haven’t read book 1 then you need to get to it and then read this book right after. I am also thrilled to see that the story isn’t ending just yet. I don’t think I will ever get sick of reading about the Poughkeepsie Brotherhood group!!!!
She’s eternally grateful to Omnific Publishing, which has now published four of her books: two in the Seraphim Series and two in the Poughkeepsie Brotherhood Series, as well as her novella, Late Night with Andres. That one is special because 100% of the proceeds go to breast cancer research. (So go get it right now, please!) She also very much appreciates her open-minded readers, who embrace everything she has to offer, with a focus on anti-heroes and bathroom humor.
