Sometimes, one dark moment is all it takes to turn your world black…
For 24-year old Dominic Kinkaide, that moment took place on the night of his high school graduation. One dark incident changed him forever. He’s a hardened actor now, famous in the eyes of the world, but tortured in his own. He doesn’t care about much of anything, except for losing himself in the roles that he plays.
23-year old Jacey Vincent doesn’t realize how much her father’s indifference has affected her. She is proof that sometimes it isn’t one specific moment that wrecks a person, but rather it’s an absence of moments. She’s like a bird with a broken wing-strong yet fragile, as she tries to float through life, finding acceptance in the arms of random guys, one after the other… to fill the void that her father left in her.
Until she meets Dominic.
After jaded Dominic and strong-willed Jacey are thrown together, his secret and her issues create a dark and damaged energy that will soon turn their attraction to each other into an explosive storm.
Even though when the clouds have cleared and the dust has settled, both of them are almost obliterated… they’ve learned a priceless lesson.
Sometimes, before we fall… we fly.

5 Beautiful and Broken Stars
Let me just say that if you have read this series and you know who Pax is and thought what a bad boy he is, well let me tell you, you need to meet Dominic Kinkaide. He is the ultimate bad boy. I LOVE this series. Courtney Cole can do no wrong in my opinion. I have to say that I think she out did herself with this book. This is the 3rd book in her Beautifully Broken series and I honestly think it is the best of the three. Now don’t get me wrong, saying that in no means deters from how much I loved books 1 & 2, but something about this story and characters just made it the best story yet. This book sucked me in from the first page in the prologue to the last page of the epilogue. I even had tears in my eyes while reading the Author’s Notes at the end. This book evoked so many amazing feelings from me. I laughed, I cried (ugly tears), I was pissed, I swooned, and I fell in love. I absolutely love Courtney’s writing style and story telling. Each book of hers that I have read has been outstanding and in my opinion flawless. This book had so much emotion in it. This story was so much more then just a sexy love story, where a gorgeous bad boy meets a strong willed good girl. This story was truly about learning to love yourself and to realize that even though people make bad decisions that they still deserve to love and to be loved. This was a story of 2 people helping each other grow as individuals and as a couple. One thing I truly enjoyed was that there wasn’t a lot of outside drama in the story. Yes there were 2 biotches that try to stir up trouble, but the author really nips that in the bud pretty quickly without it getting to ugly. The biggest drama in this story was caused by Dominic and Jacey themselves.
The story begins pretty much where book 2 ends. We see Jacey getting on with her life on her own. Her brother Gabriel and her BFF Madison have moved to Conneticut to be closer to Pax and Mila. After book 2 we learn that Jacey is also a broken soul and really needs to learn how to move past what happened with her ex and become a better person. I loved Jacey’s character….she was spunky and direct, but when she felt strongly about something she didn’t give up. I really enjoyed watching her grow in this book, she definitely became a better person by the end. As for Dominic….What can i say except HOLY BAD BOY!!!!! But I loved him. He was so broken and tortured by a major event in his past, that he completely shut himself off. He believed that because of a decision he made when he was a teenager, and the result of that decision, that he didn’t deserve to be happy. That is until he met Jacey and she opened his eyes and helped him see what he truly deserved was to be happy and loved. I liked the pace of their relationship….nothing was rushed or forced. Jacey and Dominic truly had a great connection, even though Dominic fought it most of the book. Once he realized that he was worthy of love and Jacey he broke down all his walls and it was great to see. I loved watching Jacey and Dominic grow into better people and a better/stronger couple by the end.
As for secondary characters, they weren’t who I thought they would be. I was expecting Gabriel, Madison, Pax and Mila to play a bigger part in this book, but they really don’t. We don’t see Pax or Mila at all and Gabe and Maddy are only in it for a small part. Just enough to give us an update and keep us in the loop of their story. The big characters in this book were Brand ( Gabe’s BFF ) and Dominic’s brother Sin. Brand was still the ever loyal friend to Jacey and was willing to do anything for her. I don’t want to say much about him because it would give away some of the storyline…let me just say that I really hope we get a book about Brand. He totally deserves his story to be told. As for Sin…he is your typical rocker/partier. I can’t say why and how he plays into the story because that is something you need to read the book to find out. But I really did like his character and wouldn’t mind finding more out about him someday 😉
I would definitely recommend this book/series to anyone looking for a 5 star read. If you are looking for a book that is more then just a love story, then this book and series are what you are looking for. I thought Courtney Cole said it best at the end of her notes…. “Life is hard sometimes, but it can only break you if you let it.” ” You can be dealt a really crappy hand in life, but the power to change everything rests within you. You hold the key to your own happiness.” ….. Courtney Cole.
Courtney Cole is a novelist who would eat mythology for breakfast if she could. She has a degree in Business, but has since discovered that corporate America is not nearly as fun to live in as fictional worlds. She loves chocolate and roller coasters and hates waiting and rude people.
Courtney lives in quiet suburbia, close to Lake Michigan, with her real-life Prince Charming, her ornery kids (there is a small chance that they get their orneriness from their mother) and a small domestic zoo.
