After a year of partying, Sam decides to buckle down and focus on college. Things are going great until a one-night stand leaves her pregnant and alone. Raising a child while going to school isn’t easy, but Sam is determined to be strong for her daughter. She doesn’t have time for guys or relationships, and takes great care to protect her child and her heart.
Judd doesn’t fit the mold of a college ballplayer. His long hair and tattoos may fit the life he’s created for himself, but baseball is the one thing he takes seriously. When he meets Sam, he’s immediately drawn to her curves and refusal to put up with his crap. When Judd learns the truth, can he handle the responsibility that comes with loving a single mother?
Sam yearns for the fire that Judd fuels in her, but her child’s needs have to come first. Can two people at different stages in their life find a way to make a life together?

4 SOLID STARS
So this is the 4th book I have read by Bethany Lopez and I have to say that this one is definitely my favorite. I have read her Friends and Lovers Trilogy and really enjoyed them, but Indelible was even better. I felt the characters, Judd and Sam, were very relatable. I loved Sam because to me she was such a strong character. I am a mom of 2 boys and even though I am not a single mom, I could totally relate to some of the scenarios that were presented in the book. I liked that Bethany showed the real side of being a single parent. I liked that she showed what it is like to deal with a 2 year old all by yourself and still try to have a normal relationship. I was glad that she didn’t rush this relationship with Judd and Sam. I liked that Sam wanted to get to know Judd before introducing him to Karrie, her daughter. What can I say about Judd….he was amazing. I loved that she showed his transformation from player to responsible adult. He was so good with Karrie that my heart melted every time they had a scene together. He definitely makes my bbf list :). Bethany even snuck in a little twist to the story and I am happy to say that I figured it out pretty quickly but it didn’t take away from the story at all. It just made me want to see how it all turned out. I’m not going to say anything more on that subject, if you want to know what I am talking about you will just have to read the book.
My only negative with the book is that I wish it was longer. I knew going in that Bethany’s books tend to be on the shorter side, which I don’t have a real problem with, I just felt that there was more story that could’ve been told between Judd, Sam, and Karrie. I will say that I thought that the flow of the book was good.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a sweet love story without all the extra outside drama. Plus if you love a story with kids in it, then this is a book you should read….Karrie was so adorable 🙂
I look forward to reading future books by Bethany Lopez.
