What happens when a first love is given a second chance?
Torn apart ten years previously, Michaela and Jesse’s lives couldn’t be more different. Jesse is enjoying huge success in New York after denying where he came from, while Michaela treasures the quiet life in their hometown, Starling.
Who they are may have changed but their love hasn’t.
A school reunion forces them to meet again, and after a passionate night together they can’t bear to be apart. Faced with problems, past and present, the pair try to pick up their relationship where they left off. But when Jesse has spent the last ten years running from his troubled past he finds the journey home, to his true love, harder than anything he has ever done. Michaela is rooted there by her son and her family, both of which present problems for Jesse, but after building a life in Starling off of her own determination and strength, Michaela isn’t willing to throw that away…for anyone.
After everything this couple have faced, is compromise the biggest test of all?
If you hadn’t guessed it already my name is Jade. I’m twenty-six and I live in a little-ish town called Shrewsbury, England. If you don’t know anything about Shrewsbury then let me enlighten you on three things. One – Charles Darwin was born here. Two – The movie Christmas Carol was shot here because of our cutesy little houses. Three – I’m not Google. Go and look it up. Hehe…
And what is it I actually do in this little town? I attempt to reign a house filled with my partner of almost nine years, Nath, and our two angelic (insert demonic dependent on the day, hour or minute) little boys, Eddie and Dexter. In between this mammoth task, I find a little sanity with a good book, good music and good friends. If I’m in the mood to explore the INsanity then I hit up my girls on instagram (if you don’t have it, get it, and get involved with the wonderful ladies of SMI BookClub!) and relish in a spot of book analyzing, fan-girling, or more than likely, perving.
When I should be tackling the monumental ironing pile or organising the out of control toy collection that has recently exploded, you can find me writing. My peace, my saviour, my drug. I’m currently trying to find the courage to admit that my debut novel is ready to be released whilst finishing a second novel and dreaming up a third and forth. It really is never ending.
Thanks again for reading a little about moi.
