Emerson Ray is trouble. Juliet knows it the minute she lays eyes on Cedar Cove’s resident bad boy. Forced to spend her summer before college in the sleepy beach town, she never expected to crash into the most devastating guy she’s ever met—or for Emerson’s blue eyes to strip through her dark secrets, and make her feel a desire she’s never known. Their connection is undeniable, but Juliet is torn. She knows, once she gives him everything, there’ll be no turning back.
Juliet McKenzie is dangerous. Emerson can tell from the way she blows through all his defences, laying bare the demons he’s carried alone all his life. He’s left a trail of broken hearts and empty beds in his wake, but Juliet is different. Her innocence is intoxicating—and the passion she keeps hidden, just below the surface. He wants to be the only one to set it free, but with every kiss, he’s closer to losing control and doing the one thing he swore he never would: fall in love.
One summer. Two damaged hearts. Their story is only just beginning…
“I listened to my friends talk about soul-mates, and I couldn’t understand. How could they act like it was beyond their control, as if they were just pieces of a bigger puzzle, with no say in anything at all?”
Those are the famous last words of Juliet before she met her soul-mate, Emerson. If you read Unbroken as I did, you will want to read Untouched and get the back story on how Emerson and Juliet met. It’s sweet, sad, funny, sexy and way too short!!! This story reminds me of one of those love at first sight stories. Emerson and Juliet fall hard and fast!!
I didn’t really know how much we were going to get about their backstory and I guess I expected it to be up until their breakup, but it wasn’t. This is more about Emerson and what was going on in his life when he meets Juliet. What a pleasant surprise for me. I must say I dreaded reading about their breakup, so only reading about their first few weeks of first love romance was refreshing. Don’t get me wrong though, it’s not all happy times. If you read Unbroken, you know Emerson has a past and Juliet also has some similar issues. But how could Juliet not fall in love with him. He has a great heart! Maybe a little rough around the edges but he has made the best of an unfortunate situation.
Overall, this is a great addition to Unbroken and I look forward to more about Emerson and Juliet.
