Pieces of Lies (Pieces of Lies, #1)Pieces of Lies by Angela Richardson

Passionately driven artist, Norah Ross, has been banished from New York to Morewell for her final semester of graphic design at McLaren University. Her move allows her to reconnect with Josh, her best friend, who is more then thrilled at Norah’s appearance back into his life. At the same time that Norah steps back into Josh’s heart, she learns that he is in the process of being accepted into McLaren’s uber exclusive secret society, the ‘Lappell’. Josh takes Norah to the Lappell’s glamorous parties in the hope of taking their friendship to the next level, but when Norah meets the handsome and elusive Clint Weston, a leader in the Lappell, he sweeps her off her feet in more ways then one. Norah quickly becomes caught up in an emotional tug-of-war between the two guys while also trying to deal with her own secrets that follow her every day. When Norah’s past begins to intertwine with her present, what unfolds is a series of dramatic events filled with romance, mystery and dark motivations. She quickly realizes the path to real love can be paved in all kinds of lies.

Wow!!! Did that just happen?? I never expected a cliff hanger and that’s what I got! I don’t know whether to be angry or happy. This story just took everything I thought was going on and switched it all around on me….or at least I think that is what happened.

Pieces of Lies is a love triangle or actually it’s not a triangle, but a square. A square has four sides and that is what this story has but square sounds too boring for this one. Norah Ross is one bad ass chick to have THREE guys(yes, I said 3) in love with her. And I am serious when I say all three of them are ready to do whatever they have to do to be her forever. All I can say is LUCKY girl!! Well, maybe I shouldn’t say lucky girl, how will she ever choose. Here is what she is working with….

First you have Josh. Josh is the BFF from way back. He has been in love with her for years and has patiently waited for his time to shine. Then you have Samuel. Samuel was Norah’s first love and ex-fiancé. And last but not least, we have Clint. Clint is the rich guy that jumps from girl to girl without settling down but when he meets Norah, he decides he is ready to settle down. Norah feels a strong attraction to Clint that she can’t deny but Josh and Samuel just won’t give up on her.

Every single one of these guys is a sweety at heart but they have all made some bad decisions when it comes to Norah. I would like to say I would have told them all to take a hike but I know better 😉 I would have done exactly what Norah did….except for a few circumstances where she gave in way too easy. Also, Norah has a great friend named Tess that I loved! Tess stayed quiet and watched all the drama play out throughout the story and then like a good friend, gave Norah some great advice in the end. I still have this strange feeling, though, that there will be more about Tess in the next book.

Other than the crazy love whatever that is going on, there is some mystery and drama also going on. Norah is running from her family and past, Josh is running from his past, Clint is trying to be the perfect son but is miserable doing it and Samuel is working on a way to get Norah back. Yeah, that is a lot for one book but it all makes great sense and flows really well. There are many twists and turns and ups and downs to keep your emotions on their toes. But, damn that ending!! I was not expecting it to be a cliff hanger and I was pissed and entertained at the same time.
