~Hound Dog (Book 4 in the Savannah Rossi Chronicles) by Deliza Rafferty~
*Contains graphic sexual content, language and mild violence.*
Of all the singers in all of L.A. County, Greg had to hire Savannah Frickin’Rossi. Jax hadn’t set eyes on that bitch in years, though how he’d managed it was no small miracle, as they traveled in many of the same circles and played many of the same venues with their bands. In fact, his band, Socket Wrench, had recently beat out hers in a contest where the winner got to record the theme song for the latest Johnathan Brauer film. Brauer was the fastest-rising producer in Hollywood these days and the opportunity was a big deal. Jax had heard through the grapevine that Savannah had been so pissed off about Death By Red losing to Socket Wrench that right before her show that night she’d pulled some guy from the audience she’d never met and fucked him in her dressing room. He’d also heard that wasn’t the first time she’d done such a thing, either. Plenty of stories had gotten back to him about the kind of woman Savannah had become. Apparently she’d wrap her legs around a light pole if she thought humping it could further her career.
Somewhere in the back of his mind the seed was planted that perhaps he’d been the one to set that ball rolling. He refused to allow it to take root.
When Savannah left after the session that afternoon, Greg had asked Jax what the deal was between them. All Jax told him was that they had dated years ago and it hadn’t worked out. Again Greg asked if there was going to be a problem and again Jax assured him there wouldn’t be, that it was a long time ago when they’d been just kids. Jax knew it wasn’t a lie, because the session that afternoon had gone perfectly fine. Perhaps it hadn’t been the most jovial session he’d ever been a part of but Savannah had kept her head in the game, been perfectly cordial when she was forced to address him personally and she’d sung her face off. He had forgotten how talented she was. Even at seventeen she’d been freakishly gifted and now that she was a full grown woman she’d developed her prodigious raw talent into finely honed musicianship.
He’d also forgotten how hot she was and it appeared that killer teenage body had only ripened with age. It had been not a little distracting when about forty-five minutes deep into recording she announced that she was getting warm and took off her light sweater to reveal a snug, hip-hugging pair of jeans and form fitting top that left little to the imagination. Jax had a direct view of her entire body through the window over the mixing console. The mic and pop filter, hanging from above her, hid her face (stunning in its own right) while she was singing, but nothing hid those juicy curves…
Holy Hot Pants! If anyone can turn the heat up in a book its Deliza. I’m not even exaggerating. Before starting Hound Dog (Book 4 in the Savannah Rossi Chronicles), I read the first three books in the series: Rock & Roll, Slow Jam, and Little Drummer Boy. Let me just say, all three are very HOT, but Hound Dog takes the cake. Speaking of cake here is a line for you- “… the undeniable aroma of a woman – as if sex was a cake and she’d found a way to frost it.” Yep, see what I mean. That’s just a sweet little taste of what lies within the core of Hound Dog.
Savannah Rossi, an indie singer/songwriter, is one bad ass, sexy, rocker chick. She takes no shit from anyone. Nope none, zero…and has learned lessons from her past that play a major part in this book. She is the lead singer in the band ‘Death by Red’ (killer name, right?) and is very close to her brotherly band-mates. It is no secret that Savannah is a very sexual individual. You learn this from the get-go in Rock & Roll. Perfect woman, right? Yup!!
In Hound Dog we meet Jax Taylor. Jax played an important role in Savannah’s past and here he is, turning up once again, catching Sav by complete surprise. These two have so much pent up anger and sexual desire for one another that you can feel it. I found myself very anxiously awaiting the inevitable. And holy hot damn, the inevitable is FIRE-FREAKING-WORKS!!!! Hottest fight scene I have ever read!! And oh my GOD the ending…the freaking ending….please Deliza please please please give us Volume 5 soon….very soon!!!!
Now I don’t want to give too much away, but there is no excuse for you to pass up this super steamy book by one very awesome writer. You won’t be disappointed. If you like a strong female character and super-hot sex scenes then please, I beg you, check this one out. But read the first three prior…I am glad I did. The first one, Rock & Roll is even free on smashwords. See, no excuses! Happy Reading y’all!
